Lambertusstraat 104 in the Kralingen district was originally a school, built in 1900. From 1940 onward the building was used by German soldiers, replaced by Canadian soldiers after the end of the war. Later, it became a youth hostel, until it was finally transformed into a studio complex in 1963. In 2002 the building was acquired by SKAR, which manages many studios for the creative sector in Rotterdam. There are 13 studios located at Lambertusstraat 104. Some of the current artists have been here since the very beginning!
